I was born and raised in Hong Kong. My parents immigrated to the US in 1994. I have one younger brother; his family lives near downtown Mountain View, within walking distance to my parents. My wife, Alice, grew up in London. We met during my undergraduate days in England. We got married after I started grad school at Stanford. We have two children, Beth and Emily. I have been working at a local space research center for 18 years. This is a dream-come-true for a boy who watched Neil Armstrong land on the Moon. I like listening/playing music, taking pictures and good food. I did not start reading for leisure until I was in my 30's. Many of the books I read involve special forces, FBI hostage rescue teams, assassins/terrorists, and a hero saving the day. One of my favorite vacation spots is Monterey (Pacific Grove). It is not too far from home and I love walking along the ocean.

    Biblical Passage for Consideration

I think that 1 Corinthians 15:58 summarized our approach to life quite well, "Therefore, my beloved brethren, be steadfast, immovable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, knowing that your toil is not in vain in the Lord." We are benefactors of those who have "run a good race" before us. In turn, we want to do our best to serve the next generation - to love them and provide opportunities for them to grow in the Lord.

    Ministry Passion

I strongly believe that we should use every opportunity to equip ourselves, serve where we are planted and allow God to mold us to become more like Him. When I was a student, many families opened their homes to me, fed me and welcomed me as part of their family. I want to do the same for the next generation. Alice and I have fond memories being interns with PBC in the early 90's. And today, we are burdened about training up the next generation of leaders (for PBC or wherever our young people may go one day). I am grateful to serve with godly elders who support me, share my vision and keep me accountable.

There are many opportunities for growth and ministry at PBC. Whether it be attending a retreat/seminar, hosting/teaching in a home fellowship, becoming part of the staff for youth/children's ministries, joining the choir, or hosting college students and new comers; start getting involved and become a part of the PBC family today!
