About Missions Trips:
Mission trips fall into a couple of categories at PBC:
Leadership Development: Our elders and pastors are sometimes invited to come teach and train Christian leaders in other countries by speaking at conferences. Most recently, PBC leaders have traveled to Indonesia, Pakistan, and Colombia.
Short-term Impact: These are open to anyone with a variety of gifts and training, and they can be terrific experiences for those who are new to overseas missions trips. Past examples include a high school trip to build homes in Mexico, India medical trips, and an orphanage support trip to Russia.
New Trips: New trips proposed by PBC members must involve experienced trip leaders and reliable people in the destination country who could use our support, whose work we can further, and who can follow up with the work after we leave. We are usually invited to be a support to missionaries already in a particular country and aid them in their current ministry.
From time to time, pastors or elders will take members from their discipleship groups or leadership teams to embark on ministry together. These trips generally follow the guidelines for short-term trips or a combination of guidelines for the leadership development and short-term trips.
