ekklesia meets for breakfast on Sunday mornings at 10 AM. We meet at Paul Taylor's house for a home-cooked breakfast, coffee, and fellowship and then head over to second service together. Paul's house is 5 minutes from church at 980 San Pierre Way in Mountain View. Click here for a map.
PBC has two morning worship services, at 8:30am and 11:15am, with an hour of Sunday school classes at 10am. Many college-age students attend the 11:15am service, and several contribute to its leadership and support in various roles.
ekklesia meets for a midweek meal and teaching time on Stanford campus. Dinner is provided. There will be time to eat together as a group, spend some time in worship and study the Bible together. We meet on Wednesdays from 5:30 until 7:00 in the Common Room of the CIRCLE (that's on the 3rd floor of Old Union, across from the bookstore). This year we'll be studying through the book of Revelation together. Click here to see the topic schedule.
ekklesia offers discipleship groups for any students that are interested. These are same-gender groups that meet weekly for Bible Study, prayer, and sharing. They are usually led by adult members of the ekklesia ministry team. This gives students the opportunities to learn from people a little further along in life. Let Paul know if you're interested in being a part of a group.
We go on three regular retreats each year as a time to step back, encounter God in new ways and spend some additional time together with each other. They include a fall retreat in the Santa Cruz hills, a winter ski trip at Lake Tahoe, and a spring camping trip on the beach.
The adopt-a-student program connects students with families from the church in an effort to broaden students' connection within the church families. Pairs of students are assigned to a family who agrees to invite the students over for dinner at least once a quarter. Contact Paul if you're interested in participating.
Paul Taylor, the college pastor, is regularly available to meet with students to discuss questions and help you sort through issues of life and faith. In addition, there are a variety of pastors and members of the congregation who are available to meet with students.
Each Sunday morning during the academic year you can catch a ride from Stanford to PBC for the college breakfast fellowship and the 11:15am service. For any questions about rides or to make sure we look out for you, contact Charissa Shull. Rides are given back around 12:45.
